Templeton College, Egrove Park
University of Oxford
Located in beautiful parkland just outside Oxford, the award-winning modernist buildings of Templeton College were originally built between 1964 and 1990. We were appointed by the University of Oxford to explore the possibility of adding sensitively to the Templeton College buildings to produce a high-quality conference centre for the benefit of the University and the Saïd Business School.
The illustrative scheme, which formed the basis of a successful outline planning application, removed the existing temporary buildings and showed how new buildings for a 150-room conference centre and associated seminar and lecture rooms could complete and complement the college's listed buildings to produce a coherent whole.
