Hinshelwood Building

Oxford Science Park

The 3,500 sq.m. building occupies a prominent site facing on one side, the main Science Park entrance and on the other, a large lake. It provides office accommodation on two floors around a central atrium.

The north and south elevations are of masonry with windows on a regular grid allowing for the creation of cellular office or laboratory spaces in a variety of configurations. 'Soft-spots' were incorporated in various locations to allow a tenant to create laboratory space in any area.  This is supported by the large area of roof level plant dedicated for tenant use.

The east and west elevations are substantially glazed allowing views over the lake to the Oxfordshire countryside or the heart of the park. Large over-sailing canopies shade the glazed areas in summer and protect the entrance.
