Harris Academy Greenwich
London
The Harris Academy Greenwich is the second school in the London PSBP batch following Stratford School Academy.
Located in Eltham, the academy sits on an expansive and generous site. The project has enabled an increase in the Academy cohort to 1,150 pupils including a 6th form. It is now housed in a new main teaching and administrations building, with three existing pavilions retained and refurbished.
The Academy had previously occupied a 7-storey 1950s tower building which was retained through construction (and subsequently demolished) allowing the Academy to operate fully throughout the build and refurbishment.

Efficient layout
The new main building forms a superblock with clear efficient circulation in a figure of eight around an external courtyard and triple height assembly hall space. The teaching spaces are located in departments with art and DT at ground floor alongside the dining hall and large spaces. General teaching and music is on the first floor, with science and ICT comprising the top floor.
Robust materials
Clad in insulated metal panels over a buff-brick base, the robust efficient new building reduces the height of buildings on site whilst improving the educational possibilities for the school.
