Strood Academy opens

World famous fashion designer Zandra Rhodes and Nicholas Hare were special guests and speakers at Strood Academy's official opening last week.

The event took place in the new hall and other dignitaries were the Mayor, Mark Reckless MP & Rod Stiles (BAM Construction).

Cllr Les Wicks, said: "The official opening of the academy was always going to be a great milestone for the academy programme, but it's also significant for education in Medway as a whole. The academy is already clearly making a different to students' learning."

The Academy was recently awarded Best New Building at the Medway Culture and Design Awards.
