We’re delighted that our proposal for the “Old Street Iconic Gateway” has been selected as one of only four winners from a longlist of 39 teams.
In collaboration with Price and Myers, Hoare Lea and Fira, Old Street Park provides a flexible, green, public space for cyclists, residents, workers and visitors. Our proposal is integrated with smart technology that responds to the pioneering creativity of the growing tech city, harnessing the social, environmental and economic aspirations of the area for the Old Street community.
In December 2017, Islington Council, TfL and the Mayor of London launched the Old Street Iconic Gateway competition seeking ‘exciting, bold and iconic’ proposals for a new gateway structure and public space that reflects the areas growing identity as a digital innovation hub. Over 120 entries were received, 39 were longlisted and exhibited in the White Collar Factory for three weeks before a judging panel selected NHA’s entry as one of the 4 winners.
The project is featured in the Architect's Journal, Dezeen and Building Design.
