Awards
We are delighted to announce that our recently completed new office building for Christies Care in Suffolk is a Finalist at the 2017 LABC East Anglia Building Excellence Awards: Best Public Service Building. These awards celebrate achievements in the construction industry and reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, and partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile.
Nicholas Hare Architects' design focused on two aspects of greenness: in the selection of materials and energy economy, targeting an EPC ‘A’ rating, and following Passivhaus principles. The entire superstructure of the building, including its external walls, is of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and was built in just 3 weeks.
The building was recently announced "Best Large New Building" 2017 RIBA Suffolk Association of Architects Awards.
The LABC Award judges do not just consider the building's design, but any technical innovations, sustainability and building performance. They also look at the team's ability to solve technical problems with creative solutions, any use of innovative products, as well as outstanding craftsmanship.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Cambridge on 30 June.
