How Useful is Thermal Mass - debate at NHA
01 October 2011
News
For the second in our series of autumn discussion evenings at NHA, a distinguished panel of guest speakers will debate the merits of thermal mass. Like many architects, we are often confounded by the range of opinions that services engineers have on this subject. Can anybody quantify its usefulness? As envelopes become more thermally efficient (insulated and air-tight) does it become redundant? Is a thick concrete slab the most efficient approach? Many questions and potentially many correct, but different, answers will be examined in this engaging debate.
