Hidden Homeless Competition

NHA's entry for the New Horizon Youth Centre ideas competition for the Hidden Homeless at Kings Cross has been shortlisted by the judging panel.

The competition, run by Colander Associates, and supported by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, called for proposals to transform the abandoned York Road underground station.

Our scheme created a home for a new community where individuals can find safety and privacy. A coffee shop, workshops and studio spaces at ground floor provide an income stream for the facility, whilst an open courtyard at first floor level separates and organises the different residential accommodation above. A garden at roof level provides an outdoor classroom.
