Following an internal ideas competition proposed by Peter Murray of New London Architecture, Nicholas Hare Architects' Lawrence Edgell's winning "Capital Idea" is featured in the latest issue of New London Quarterly. Lawrence wonders what would encourage people to explore the streets of London a little more - without a map or reliance on the Underground?
His idea was simple; lights! Each tube station within Zone 1 should be lit the colour of the tube line it belongs to and a laser of the same colour should be shot into the sky.
The people of London would quite happily navigate their way through the streets of London and gradually relieve pressure on the London Underground!
