The Cresswell Centre at Bristol Cathedral Choir School (BCCS) will be officially opened by Lord Adonis on 22 September in a ceremony hosted by the school and attended by the project team, press and council members.

Nicholas Hare Architects were appointed by Skanska JV Projects Ltd in 2008 to develop proposals for this expansion as part of the Bristol BSF programme. The masterplan provides a coherent vision, through rationalization of the rather ad hoc development of the last century.

Nicholas Hare Architects' sympathetic refurbishment of the listed Deanery and sensitively designed new College Square building complement this overall approach. This strategy reflects the school's historic background and supports a strong sense of community, while creating modern facilities that reflect the new Academy status.
