Nicholas Hare Architects has been appointed by UCL to overhaul and renew the Bloomsbury Theatre. Built in 1968 to the designs of James Cubitt & Partners, the theatre's 550-seat auditorium will be entirely but sensitively refurbished as part of the project, with new technical and services infrastructure that will help drive a more inclusive and far-reaching programme.

Construction is expected to start later this year, with the theatre due to reopen in Autumn 2018.
