2016 Building Awards Finalist

Our refurbishment of the 1960s Arup Building, now renamed The David Attenborough Building is a Finalist at the 2016 Building Awards. We hope that it might be something of a catalyst - showing that the refurbishment of such challenging structures can be exciting as well as environmentally responsible.
The design preserves the integrity of the original Brutalist design and adapts the building to its new use as a vibrant cross disciplinary Conservation Campus for the University of Cambridge. A series of simple, but bold, architectural interventions match the scale and confidence of the original building whilst making it more accessible in every sense.
The winners of this year's Building Awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on the 8 November. We will be there and delighted to talk about the project if you want to hear more.
